For at en herreparfume virkelig skal komme til sin ret, sprøjtes den altid meget sparsomt og direkte på huden. Den valgte duft frigives hurtigt gennem kropsvarmen. Hvis du bruger en sprayflaske, skal afstanden være omkring 20 cm. Den fine spraytåge gnides ikke af og tørrer ind på huden. Da spraytågen stiger fra bunden og op, er huden altid parfumeret fra bunden og op. Ideelt set skal kroppen forberedes med en lugtfri bodylotion før parfumeringen. Duftstofferne i herreparfumen vil klæbe sig til lipiderne i lotionen og sikre en længerevarende duftoplevelse.
